Another small update. This one is focused on fixing the problem with WordPress 2.6 in case the wp-content folder is not in regular place in wordpress installation folder. The only solution I have found so far instead of loading wordpress wp-config is to sent all settings needed by external file through query string in url. It could be a long string, but that’s the only solution right now.

If anybody has better way of sending settings in external CSS or JS files, please send me a message about it, or leava comment. Also, if you notice some problems with Starscape and Wordpress 2.6, leave a comment here or in the forum: Starscape Support Forum.

This is mainly bug fixing release. But also, this version adds new Authors template, and add changes to template layout so they now look like any other page. There was a bug with footer and missing wp_footer() function call that is used by some of the plugins. Also, user guide has been updated.

Some of the fixes are related to the requirements for new Theme Directory on official WordPress webiste. Becasue of this, new options are added for displaying tags on front page and in the archives.

Update: Theme is now available at WordPress Theme Directory: Starscape.

New version of Starscape is available. And again, long changelog. This is most likelty the most important edition of Starscape so far. Mainly becasue I have planned for this to be last edition of Starscape theme, but I have decided to add some more things. So, the next edition will be called Scorpius, and it will be available in the next two or three weeks. Before that, you can expect one or two minor revisions of Draco.

I have also started working on Starscape 2, with first preview version hopefully ready for the end of september.

This is mainly a bug fix release. But also, contains some important changes. Here is the list of some of the changes:

Last few weeks I was working on some new features for Starscape Cygnus edition, and I have started compiling the list of features I would like to transfer to Starscape II and also a list of new features. Some of the current Starscape things is still in the rough phase, and I don’t expect to polish all of them, not until Starscape II is in development. This is especially the case with Nova rendering engine that has much more potential then the current version you can see in Cygnus edition.

I will start working on Starscape II in august, and I expect to see first public version in september. There will be a test blog available during development period, and I will upload new version of theme at least once a week.
